planning visit
You might have heard that you can’t plan for birth, but it’s crucial to have comprehensive contingency plans in place. These plans will safeguard your birth experience and provide you with a sense of control and preparation. The alternative midwife birth planning visit is designed to give you peace of mind, knowing that you’ve considered various possibilities and are ready to adapt to any situation.
This visit provides you with, and begins to discuss topics including preparing for birth, what to expect and what your options are. Birth Education, Preparation and Planning in this visit can include complex pregnancy and mental health needs.
The visit is personalised to meet your individual needs and to give you the information, evidence and research around birth and choices you wish to make and plan for in your pregnancy, birth and postnatal period.
This will be a comprehensive and personalised plan for you to use and share with your NHS Care provider. It will aid and support your choices; it helps you to have a voice in your care plan and to use as reference throughout your journey to parenthood.
This is approx 2.5-3hr midwifery visit in your own home for you and your birth partner.
