Midwife
pregnancy visit
Women and their families want access to quality time with a midwife. Having time with a midwife to discuss options allows for careful consideration of the risks and benefits when facing important decisions.
Having trouble getting to see your care professionals as much as you need?
Appointments too quick to discuss all your concerns?
Feeling anxious about your pregnancy or in those early newborn moments?
Whatever your concerns, I can help.
Sadly, limited availability and short appointments with midwives in the NHS system have led to a focus on clinical assessment and routine queries. Seeing different midwives throughout pregnancy which can result in you repeating your history and concerns, without feeling listened to or heard.
This alternative midwife visits gives the opportunity to discuss your pregnancy and feel confident and empowered. For me to get to know you and understand your journey. You may want to use this appointment to go through your birth plan options, discuss concerns, or for information and advice before making important decisions. If you like statistics and facts before making a decision, we can gather the latest information to ensure you are well informed. Every visit is led by you and your requirements.
I am an NMC registered midwife with additional training and knowledge in Birth Trauma and PTSD. I work holistically and energetically with a therapeutic and sensitive approach and this reflects in my skills when working in pregnancy, birth and postnatal period with women and families. I am able to spend as much time as needed at each antenatal appointment to talk about your hopes and fears and de-briefing any previous birth experiences as a specialist in this field.
